Altberg, Arktis and Keela are all on the Badger list of approved suppliers.

Our Altberg boots was 'andmade to measure 15 years ago and have survived some very hard wear since then in extremes of climate ranging from frozen snow to baking desert via marshland. They're comfortable as a pair of slippers and as tough as, well, old boots...

They weren't cheap, but are worth every penny... In fact, considering how long they have lasted, they were cheaper than buying several pairs of inferior boots like Danners...

Good call on the sticky mods. I was told that Vango tents picked that name because it was felt that no-one would want to by a product called "Govan tents".

Are any of my west coast friends able to confirm this?

Podsac sacs are goood kit, as far as I know they are still made in Sheffield.
As for Mountain Range, they no longer exist, seems they could / would not compete with the increasingly fashion driven outdoor clothind industry. Another UK based company is www.Slioch.co.uk based in Northern Scotland.

Really, I didn't know that thanks Malcolm. I'll check them out further.

What I'd also like to try and do to the list is add if they manufacturer their products in the UK as well being a UK company but it's a difficult thing to find out. There are some companies very open about where their stuff is made (PhD for example) and others that are not. It's can be very dependent upon the particular line of clothing too.

Updated the list with Tog24 and a brief bit of their history nabbed from their website.

Nice one Edgehog. Not seen a lot of that stuff from. Where's the best place to get PRI stuff from? I rather like this for example:

You can buy direct from PRI if you are in the military or a copper but failing that they supply the places that edgehog suggests and others like penrith survival
We shall not cease from exploration.

Not sure it has been mentioned but Musto is a UK company. In fact Keith Musto and his son still run it, very nice chaps.

Nope I've not got Musto on the list, in fact I didn't know they existed so thanks for posting. I take it there are this company?

I'll add them to the list. Ohh an I really need to do a review of the Montane Superfly I ended up buying.

    Thanks, Phil
