Funding for Jacks Hammerin...
Jack Jack has his annual Hammerin over the second May Bank Holiday - 25/28th May
Currently all we are willing to say is its near Croydon, some more accurate directions WILL be distributed closer to the time (well they were last year anyway). You can get pretty close to him by taking the Thameslink train from Kings Cross St.Pancras.
http://www.britishblades.com/forums/...ad.php?t=14459
As most of you planning to attend will be aware, for this years Hammerin, we have Mike Blue coming over from the States to show us some of his skills and to teach Col, amongst other things, how to blow stuff up, erm I mean do a thermite smelt

We will need to get Mike over for the weekend and that will cost a little bit of dosh, so we are asking for a £25 contribution from all attendees. Due to the upfront nature of the outlay we will need payments in advance.
By paying upfront you will be added to a raffle draw to win a custom/handmade knife (this is a seperate draw to the Sunday raffle Im organising seperately).
You can of course pay on the weekend, however you wont go into the draw (which will be made before the event and announced on the Friday). Also, there may be several people that can only make one day, if thats the case then please dont be put off. If you can only make a day then we would simply ask for a donation towards any materials used, steel, gas, belts etc
The money will be collected via Paypal and can be made to the following address;
mryarrow @ yahoo .com - obviously delete the spaces
Once payment has been made I will post your name in this thread so you know I have the funds, and Jack and Col know how things are going. Updates will be made once a week.
There are some rules behind the payments;
1, Please make payments by 14 May 2007, payments after that date will not be included within the draw.
2, All those who pay by the deadline will be entered into a prize draw/raffle to win a knife (details on the day)
3, You COULD pay on the door, but you wouldnt go into the raffle and we might not get enough food and drink in for you
3, If you need to cancel for any reason, then if you confirm your cancellation on PM to me by the 14th, then your money will be refunded in full, after this time we cannot guarantee a refund. Any cash left over after paying for the Hammerin costs, will be divided between those who had to cancel later than the 14th. No refunds will automatically be given and will need to be requested.
Those rules are there to cut down on admin for those involved in organisation and for the smoother running of the weekend. These have been formulated with the help of Jack as he is host.

Re: Funding for Jacks Hammerin...
Of course they can, we will be using the funds to pay for Mike, but anything left over will be used to fund future activity, so its a rolling pot that will always except funds.
Good point mate...please clarify Bob as was looking forward to a drink and gas once more

Re: Funding for Jacks Hammerin...
I'm "working" on a colleague at work to cover a shift for me so that I can get to the Hammer-In. Should know in the next day or three.
Dates are clear enough on this thread, but wading through 50-odd pages of the main thread is hard going.. Could someone please give me an idea as to WHERE JackJacks place is so I know where I'm going to have to get to ?
As soon as I know I can get the time off and can get there I'll be able to PP some money over.
