    Ebony dressed Wharncliffe

This blade has been waiting for its handle so long. I forged a kind of scandi from 19191 steel (C105W1 DIN). This steel takes spontaneous hamon. Unfortunately, it snapped after HT. So there is a wharnie born out of rest of it. Edge is 7 cm from bolster to tip. OAL is 17,5 cm.
Fittings are copper. Bolster is tapered a bit for better contours. Ebony handle.
I somehow borrowed Mik's grooves (thanks mate )
Those grooves are there on purpose. They give me a feeling where the handle ends as there is no guard and it would be very easy to slip a finger over the blade edge.

    Almost a Japanese style.

You knew i was going to love this one didn't you Karel

Dark handle, short blade, grooves and a simple shape that flows with the blade.

Just what i like.......lovely mate. It will look marvellous in a simple black sheath to match.

Actually, i think i need to send you a black 'star sapphire' cabochon to set in the sheath to add just a little accent.

Pm me if it sounds interesting to you. Stone is on me if you want to try it

    Beautiful little user, Karel!

Short blade and long handle will make it a pretty good carver!
The simplicity on a first glance and the love for little details on a second look show your sence for artistic function or functionell art!
