Look's like what used to be known as finger knitting when I was a ickle boy.
Will see if I can find it's proper name.

Lol, that's a bad pic alright! Looks like a plat. You can maybe tell I know nothing about lanyard weaving.

Re: lochsa lanyard
It kind of looks like a plait but basically its a single strand.
Push the strand through so you have half and half then cut a slot lengthwise along the strand, in the middle, right by the bend. Then thread the uncut side through the slot. Then, cut a lengthwise slot again in the bit which has just been pulled through. Make sure its close up towards the original slot. Then, pull the other piece through the new slot.
Repeat as often as you want!

Re: lochsa lanyard
The only difference with mine is that they have used 2 thicknesses of leather to go through.
I'm just uploading some photos

Re: lochsa lanyard
Right, first picture illustrates passing the strip of suede through a ring and then putting in a cut on the lower section of suede.
Second picture, shows the top part of the suede, passed through the slot to then become the new lower section of suede.
Picture 3 shows cutting the new slot in whats now become the lower section of suede.
Picture 4 shows the "braid" forming
Picture 5 shows the cutting of the next slot, again in the lower section of the suede.
Picture 6 shows the braid again after the top section has been pulled through the lower section.
I hope this all makes sense
Its getting a wee bit late so if anyone has a problem with my instructions, I'll see if I can help you tomorrow
