You can also get something similar here, Martin. In the States again though so you'd need to import one (or two )

Re: lets see your bushcraft knife.

I'm trying for a sort of nessie trinity theme here, although I don't own a Nessmuk yet.

GB carving axe (my absolute favourite axe, does everything, I even made a spoon with it! ok..... it was a very big spoon....), a Queen Cattleman, chosen because of the awl, nothing cleans fingernails better than an awl, and my very latest and proudest aquisition, a bushy from Mick. I'm forever bashing and mashing things with a knife's butt and the O2 pommel on this was just perfect for me.

I usually have one of these constantly around my neck if I'm in the trees as I don't like weeing in the dark without something to see off the monsters. Either Bison's Pocket Skinner or a remarkedly non-tactical Perrin.

doe anyone else find it quite strange that most people's bushcraft knives are quite clean/shiny?- including mine ( with some exceptions )

LLBean is OK to deal with, the best would be to have the pack send to a friend in the US who visits the UK or when someone from the UK visists the US have him/her take the pack back.

As I understand the UK customs will always tax you and probably not only over the pack value but also over the postage costs (this happens in the Netherlands )

I don't know what shipping to the UK might be but it could be $30 so you'll end up paying around $130 to LLBean and then the import/customs tax in the UK.

Right now I'm lloking for a Nessmuk pack from Frost River but it will be a lot less sofisticated then the LLBean.

    Cheers,

    Bagheera

With the correct steel you don't get rust every time you slice up a mackeral.

Some don't seem to have been sharpened, perhaps some just belong to collectors.
If you will a good edge win,
temper thick and then grind thin.

as long as you are careful no to hit the bone, because then, the 'correct steel' will usually chip....

Zackerty's 440F works a treat whether removing heads/gutting or just chopping them up for bait to catch biger stuff. My only complaint is he doesn't use stainless rivets in the sheath.

    Sorry I just hate rust!!
