Viking Seax 'Hildisvini'
I finished this a little while ago and have been waiting on the sheath.
the blade is 8 inches of handforged 1084, the gripp is european cherry root and the bolster is bronze and leather. I cast the D rings on the sheath out of silicon bronze, and they are inspired by some of the carvings found at viking dublin. I designed the sheath based on some of the sheaths found at the Gotland dig, and I had it made by a leather smith from over the mountain by the name of Stephen Folger.

I like the carving on the handle - not too much to look messy but enough to look good.

The knife is outstannding. It has grace and power. The carving completes it. The sheath may be authentic, but it's not really up to the same standard as the knife.
