Re: Archery bits
is this a really owld beggar then??
, it's fitting really as i collect old airguns
, old watches and try to collect old tenners but the wife keeps finding them
john.
ps, ian, the longbow that i mentioned in my reply, i was about thirteen when i made it, i bought some tournament arrows for it and shot the first one at our particularly thick garage doors, the arrow snapped in two, the next shot was when my mate was jumping up and down shouting "you can't get me" well, being young (as well as an idiot!) i fired in his general direction (he was about 40/50 yards away), he shouted i can't see it!!, next thing he had a hole in his leg (and his brand new stayprest trousers), jeeez, i felt terrible, probably as bad as when he shot me with a relum tornado a few weeks before
bloody kids just don't see danger

Re: Archery bits
Stayprest trousers?! You're showing your age mate
It were all Farah slacks & Diadora Bjorn Borg Gold trainers when I worra lad...
When I was at uni I shot an arrow from a 70# recurve straight through an outside khazi & smashed the bowl in half for a bet - very much a "hold my pint & watch this" moment

Re: Archery bits
ha ha, i wore either stayprest or levis, crombie and dockers (or if feeling a bit dressy, black leather soled brogues with heel taps so that it sounded like the 8th army was marching over the hill
)though i vaguely recall wearing a traveira two-toned suit in a purple colour too
it 'kin orrible being nearly 50
