Aye i was afraid it was, i know won't be able to get one.

Every S10 i have seen here has been FAC rated so if my mate has spares they would be PW136 rather than PW016.

I haven't been to the Norinco site, but I know you''re talking about the Win Model 97 "trench gun". Believe it or not, we still had them in 'Nam. They werén't slam fire, they just didn't have a trigger disconnect. The second the breech closed and the hammer was fully cocked, it would fire if you were holding the trigger down. I've a Savage Model 620 (looks like a square back Browning, but is a pump) that will do that, as will as most early Ithaca, Winchester and probably Remington guns...I mean early ones. I carried the M-14 over there(Navy was considered "second echelon"); the Marines did their best to talk us out of them....The M-16 was already a jinx.

I have heard tell that the original Winchester Model 12's (not the newer ones and the reissues) also did not have a disconnect and would "slam fire" The 12 was a more advanced gun than the 97 and, of course, was hammerless.

Indeed they are, and this is a pretty old one, which much prefers low velocity to HV rounds.

I think that somewhere along the way the port for loading the magazine moved from on top of the grip to the side of the butt-stock, possibly to get the capacity up from "only" 8 rounds.

and of course it's "breakdown" feature (flip a latch, twist the barrel 90 degrees, and remove it) has it's attractions!
