Re: Lets see your rifles?
Paint is Flair Spectrum enamel. Should be able to get it from a good model shop, or Flair will sell direct. Comes in 400 or 500ml cans, can't remember which.
The silencer is a Logun, thats been fettled and its very effective. Basically the washing up cloth that the perferated tube sits in has been replaced with that rubberized non slip stuff sold in places like caravan shops and Robert Dyas.
Since I got it back from, Dave yesterday I haven't had chance to put it through its paces yet, but he set it up on Crossmans and it now does 140 shots on a charge, not bad from about 60!Can't think of something worth going here just yet.

Re: Lets see your rifles?
Here are 2 of mine.
Unlike those in the UK, these fire 5.56/.223.
Bushmaster XM15E2S or AR-15(simply put)
and a Ruger Mini-14 in a Muzzlelite Bullpup Stock.
The AR fires the 5.56 NATO. The
Mini-14 is rated for .223 Remington only.
It is, also, only 26 1/2" OAL.
Alot shorter than Stephen63's!
Hmmm, just went further through this thread and found I'd already posted!
Just call me a dumbass, today only.

Re: Lets see your rifles?
Ok then

Top is 30.06 BSA Majestic featherweight, muzzle brake removed and barrel shortened for a moderator. Big mistake as it really spoils the handling of what is a super handling rifle. So I will have a new screw on muzzle brake made. This is a well made rifle, with a slick action.
Center is a Mannlicher Schoenauer 1950 model 6.5 x 54 wot i just got for Christmas
It is the first post war model and the last of the classic MS, the 1952 model had a swept back bolt.
The Schoenauer rotary magazine is a simplified almost skeletonized version of the model 1903 magazine. The Rigby peep sight is a nice touch. I have had two MS previously, both full stock jobs like this one; a 1903 model in 6.5 and a 1910 model in 9.5 x 57.
MS actions operate like oiled glass. Yes I know the split bridge and the flag safety make scope mounting a pain and the butterknife bolt located forward is not quick to use and the firing pin inertia is like a bowling ball but even so the action is a thing of beauty.

It is well over half a century old but is in as new condition and I got a 1.5 vertical string at 100 m with RWS 159 grain bullet even with a sticky set trigger (now fixed) so I am as happy as a happy thing.
Yup I know the bolt is closed on one of the pics
The 6.5 x 54 is an outstanding round for ranges below 150 m. (and if I can't get within 150m m of what I want to shoot with it I will take up golf) A long heavy bullet at modest velocity. Perceived recoil is on a par if not slightly less than a .243. But it went out of fashion many years ago and because of its modest velocity is not legal for deer in Scotland. But then neither is a .458 Win.
The bottom one is a Remy .243 Mountain Rifle, a light elegant rifle but crudely made and finished. Accurate though for the first two shots.
The .22 LR CZ bunny popper seems to have not made it into the pics. You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

Re: Lets see your rifles?
Used to have an Air Arms 22 cal which was a cracking field target tool and brilliant rabbiter too. Had to go though as my vision is getting worse and my fellow shooters were tired of dodging pellets!

Re: Lets see your rifles?
Got a new suppressor for my slightly altered Ruger 10/22T
Got a new modular suppressor for my 10/22T
So here are a couple of pics of it and it's larger 7.62 Nato brother
(Vepr Super with modifications):

Full length:

Shortest:

Full length the .22 is almost noiseless, the shorter the suppressor is the more noisy the rifle gets.
I use the same suppressor on my Browning Buckmark pistol.
The 7.62 Nato makes about as much noise as an unsuppressed .22LR

Re: Lets see your rifles?
Some of mine......
Marlin 39a .22 Rimfire
Bought as a wreck, fully reblued by Colin Molloy. Now used only with open sights, just bought a Williams receiver peep sight to try on it.

Sako Quad in .17HMR, DM80 mod and Zeiler on top.

There's a slack handful of air rifles and shotguns in the cabinets too, but no photos to be found.
