green guardian Idea for glastombury sculpture
I have had in my mind(for quite a few years now) a sculpture of a guardian figure ,sort of horned god type nature elemental Heavily influenced by the animated books of slaine.
The laughter in the woods:-
I am going to put forward the idea of this to the green field at glastonbury and then offering it up for sale .
I am thinking iron framed figure (1.5 x lifesize) with skin of copper sheet (hot worked and tig welded , with 6 foot paternwelded blade held aloft ,ragged helm and big old hornes .
I am intending to work withAndy Ferrago an artist friend to get the anatomical side of it all corect (and for inspiration and bouncing ideas around) .
any how whet do you all recon

A 1.5X steel and copper sculpure of human form with sword and helmet is going to weigh nigh on half a tonne .not to mention the bloody great steel slab I'd have to put underneath it .
It 'd be fine .

I think they were referring to the sword actually Owen, not the whole sculpture

Re: green guardian Idea for glastombury sculpture
I would flog the sculpture too...
A one ton copper dragon was stolen from a house near me a few weeks ago, due to the price of copper, I guess?

Re: green guardian Idea for glastombury sculpture
Sounds like a great idea - of course you'll weld it all up securely
Progress pics too please
You realise some people *a little worse for wear* will flee in abject terror at the sight of it while others might just worship.
