What a great place!
OK, I've lurked for a bit. Well, to be honest I've a few nights on nightshift on a ship reading fascinating, helpful, interesting and funny threads on every edge related subject I could think of. And British too, who'd have thought?
Where to begin...
"My name is Danny and I have a knife problem..." Nope, that's the other user group...
I do constantly fight a tendency to collect knives. I hate being a collector because I really like to use knives, and tools generally. Give me a choice of two knives to use and witness paralysis by anlysis. And I hate to mess up brand new things, so if I collect I need to buy two -one to use and one to keep iin the box. And I don't want to do that, really I don't...
But flesh is weak so I constantly have more knives than I can use and the search for the perfect knife goes on. Maybe I could get down to just two if I could find it.
Background wise I've been a physics teacher, outdoor instructor, commercial diver (rubbish knives -sharpened industrial hacksaw or kitchen devil preferred), corrosion engineer, NDT inspector and safety manager.
At the moment I have an infestation of Spydercos that I'm trying to put down, and an assortment of interesting representative knives from most manufacturers. Now I'm getting more interested in traditional and hand-made knives although I'm doing my darndest not add numbers. If a knife comes in, one (at least) goes out. If you believe that you'll believe anything.
Hope to get to know some of you
Regards,
Basemetal

Hi Danny and welcome to the forums. It's a heluva disease isn't it? Worst thing about it, it's actually pleasurable being infected, in spite of the damage to your flexible friend.

Enjoy the forums.
