    knife id?

    Here's another one I can't identify. It's marked "Speider" (which I know
means scout. The sheath is marked "Geilo Knivenfabrik", "Made in Norway".

I know Brusletto is in Geilo, but can't find any reference to Geilo Knivenfabrik.
This looks like a leuku-puukko, not a scout knife. Perhaps a contract knife
made by Brusletto or a commemorative?

Any information welcome. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks, but the Lions club knife while of the same style isn't the
same as this one. Mine doesn't have the Lions Club sheaht, etc.

Any info on the company? When in business, etc?

I think, but I am not sure, that Geilo Knivfabrik and Brusletto is the one and same producer.
Perhaps they use Geilo knivfabrik for some special knifes?

Here's what a member on Knifeforums found:
    --------------------
I┤ve been googling it up, and here is what i found:
Geilo Knivfabrikk was established 1943 by Erling Brusletto - grandson of Rognald - and since 1951 various tools was made as well.In 1962 the company changed the name to Geilo Verkt°y(tools)and Knivfabrikk. The knifeproduktion stopped in 1988, and in 1989 the name changed to Geilo Verkt°y.

    Best,
    Frode.

    Re: knife id?

Richard, I have the exact knife that you did and it was identified to me as a Norwegian Boy Scout Knife, and the Fleur De Lu (?) seems to support that fact. My sheath is marked "Rover" just below the metal band around the throat, and "Rover" on the blade. Under the marking on the blade is "Rustfri". From your information it would seem that the knife has to be at least from 1962 if not earlier.
