Welcome to "Oriental, Historical & Militaria..." the Britishblades forum devoted to the discussion of topics that fall loosely into those three categories.

As you all know Britishblades has an absolute prohibition on discussing knives and other items in any context that refers to their suitability for violent purposes and their use in combat.

However if this forum is to be of interest and value it has been decided that a certain amount of leeway is necessary regarding that prohibition: to discuss a bayonet, a Kukri, a Fairbairn Sykes Commando knife, or indeed a broadsword, katana or cavalry sabre without some reference to their historical use and practical function is obviously unrealistic.

The discussion of the use of modern military knives is not encouraged here. The idea is to allow discussion in a historical context.

It isn't possible to provide clear parameters as to precisely what is acceptable, and Moderators will exercise their discretion as to content and acceptability on a post by post basis. If this leads to some inconsistency then so be it.
