Hello all...been busy with a new career...
Sorry to not post here in a while, I am 8 months into a new career; after 30 years in the military, 3 in Civvie Street, I am now back in the arms of mother government. I started in February as a Customs Inspector, now we are Customs and Border Protection Officers. Currently assigned to the northern border between Canada and the US. Very busy place, second largest land border crossing on the US-Canadian border!
Diane has been very busy with her scrimshaw, especially the Bark River Rogue. I will post recent photos of her work; many of the new work can be found at www.knifeforums.com on the Bark River Thread.
Here's one that just got mailed off to a customer today:

Composite Ivory grips, ebony and elephant ivory belt buckle. Under magnification you can see the colt logo on the slide of the scrimshawed buckle!!!

Wow, some grips like that would look good on my CO2 Berretta pistol!
Cheers

Re: Hello all...been busy with a new career...
David,
If your CO2 Beretta is a full sized (like a 92F) and you can actually put Beretta grips on it...then you'd be pleased to know that I have access to cultured ivory Beretta 92F grips that would scrimshaw very nicely. That's whats on my Colt, cultured ivory. By the supplier's definition it is ivory scraps...powdered and bonded in a resin. It looks like ivory, feels like ivory, ages like ivory...and scrims like you wouldn't believe (so says
Diane). Oh, yes, it is importable/exportable but about 1/3 the cost!!!
The grips you see are on my own personal .45...have a lot of detail...and for the detail and scroll work, run about $350.00 US for the pair (scrimmed on both grips). I will post a better picture of the grips for you to see.

Impressive work Tim. I especially like the .45. The ivory grips contrast superbly with the deep blueing of the metal.

Andy,
Thanks very much. I just told Diane what you said...and she just smiled....widely...she's the talented one, not me!
