Cool, hope it doesn't catch fire!
If you will a good edge win,
temper thick and then grind thin.

Superb
Ingenuity at its best
Reminds me of one of those historical builds you see on the telly
No doubting the skill that's gone into that.

How stunningly clever and an original solution to the age old problem. Beautifull workmanship as well.

Re: Vertical Linisher
I bet if you put a ceramic glass liner on that platen, you would NOT have a problem with that grinder at all,

Re: Vertical Linisher
How cool is that. You did an absolutely fantastic job. I just spent about 1500$ on a grinder, and I bet yours will run smoother and quieter. I agree the platen should get a glass face, but otherwise a thumbs up from me! Watch for splinters and termites..

Re: Vertical Linisher
Quality woodturning! The finish may be too good as belts will be more inclined to wander on a shiny surface.Cannot see clearly from picture but idler pulley should have a slight crown to aid belt tracking.

Re: Vertical Linisher
Cool....
You know as daft as it sounds I wonder if some of the parts you have made there from wood could be used as patterns for metal castings... Nicely done
