    OT: 4x4 training course

I’ve just been on a 4x4 course here: http://www.deepdaleoffroad.co.uk/training.html , the one day, standard level course. What a fantastic day out! And best of all, it was paid for by my employer, as I drive a Land Rover Defender 130 all day at work . The instructor, Graeme, was brilliant – he obviously knew his stuff, and explained how the diff lock works in terms a simpleton (ie me) could understand, before taking me and my assistant around the 20 acre site teaching us how to cope with different types of terrain, and how to assess the hazards. It really made me think about how I drive, and taught me what the Landy was capable of, though some of the techniques were counter-intuitive to me as a car driver, and I had to stop myself trying to drive as I would in my Focus .
All in all, it was very useful, as well as fun, and I’m looking forward to taking our Landy off-road more, and practising some of the techniques we learnt.

    Cheers,

    Dave

    Lucky bas***d.

Glad you had fun driving offroad dave.

Although I've been green laning once or twice I've never had any professional training but it's something I've been meaning to do.

I've done a couple of military offroad courses, great fun.
I used to live in cyprus. Me and a bunch of my friends all owned SJ410 jeeps.
every weekend was a new adventure
If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.
