Fully convex mini Khukuri
I don't have many knives left...but... I needed a camp knife so I had a rummage through the box of odds and ends and found an 8" bladed "Raw Angkhola Khukuri" (13" overall).

http://www.thekhukurihouse.com/catal...d=313435fc2012
As you can see it's pretty roughly made and the blade had triple hollow grinds
.... this one looked worse than the one on their website....but...it's still a lot of knife for $32.
This was one the "buy one get one free" deals from the Khukuri House... and I was sent this one for nothing.
I can't remember who sent me this...so if you remember sending me this let me know... I owe you a pint.
I re-worked the water buffalo horn handle and took the blade to a convex zero edge.
I did most of the work on the 1" X 30" Rexon belt grinder.... and I had to remove a LOT of steel.... but I'm surprised how it turned out.

The bolster is never going to be perfect...but... this knife is going to get a beating... so I don't mind...much.
I tested the edge on a chunk of beech and.... I hate to say it.... but it chops better than the $500 Busse Battle Mistress I used to have.
I'm sure the truck spring steel will tarnish/patina/rust very quickly...but... I thought I would show some pics of it before it gets manky.
Thanks to whoever sent me this.

Re: Fully convex mini Khukuri
That's a huge improvement!
Shame you can't fill in the cut-out in the blade as well!!
I know you said you had to take a lot of steel off and I really believe you.
Why do you think it chops better than the Busse? Cranked design?

Re: Fully convex mini Khukuri
The edge profile on this Khukuri is far more acute than the edge I was able to get on the Busse... (It had a sabre grind with a convex edge...so only the last 5mm of the blade was convex)... it chopped really well.. but... the convex zero edge and the bent blade make this one a chopping machine.

I kinda like the "Cho"... I thought about chopping it off and making a choil...but left it there... it's traditional innit.

Anyone else think Soup_monger should be kept away from sandpaper
he could put a razor edge on a doughnut...
I do like the satin with the mirror edge very pretty

Re: Fully convex mini Khukuri
Blimey, what a good result for such an inexpensive knife what about a few pointers for achieving a convex zero grind, or even putting a sharp edge on a dough nut !
