Albert how big is the ants nest?.What worries me is how big are the ants? do you have any problems with them as in do they keep to their own area or start new collonies. Is the fence to keep the ants out (joke) and please keep your great pictures coming

Hi!!Roth!! That is one of the biggest,about 1 meter and 30 cm high,you can see it is nearly the hight of the fence!! They eat the crops if near!!We usually spray them, but they usually start a new nest if you don't do it again 20 days later when tha newborn ants hatch!!They usually appear in areas where it is rather bare land with white (pinkish) under lay!!Not terrible!!Quite under control!!That one is near a small stream in the edge of the coastal forest!!

I forgot to mention that I saw my first urban coyote last night. We are starting to get accustomed to seeing skunks (pretty/smelly), racoons (confident/mean) and bald eagles (up/big) now, but my jaw dropped when this whopping big raptor just trotted down the street. I was just sitting on the step drinking beer and admiring our crop of tomatoes and pumpkins – you could grow horses from horseshoe here

Camera? Fat chance. But, an amazingly elegant animal. Like a long legged fox and about four times the size. I have seen them at a distance in the wild before. This one just winked and carried on, mentioning in passing that the term coyote brown must have been coined by a colourblind fabric designer.

is the Cavea aperea pamparum what we call a "cuis" , am i right?

Thank you Esteban!!The "Aperea" is a very close relative of the"Cuis"which is original from Peru,and can have different colour spots(used very much in laboratories,or as pets).Both are Caveas!!Very close look alike.

A quick made brook crossing!!The huge caterpillar was removing some trees and other work at the farm,and in less than an hour we also could cross this brook!!When it rains very much it gets pretty deep!!
