This evening after three days of slow and thin rain in the fields where some trees had been felled I got these little birds with the flash, and some fungus on a cow dung.

Years ago(over 30) a lady gave my wife this lovely plant, saying it is a Sultana paraguaya, which I am not sure of,nor have seen another elsewhere. We keep it inside in a glass gallery in our Montevideo flat, and it keeps showing her lovely flowers. My wife asked me to take some pictures, and I am sharing them with you too!!

    Thanks for looking!!

    Re: Birds,bugs etc,around us!!

So, we were just away islanding immediately prior to the kids going back to school. Across the way from where we stayed, there is an inlet. At around twilight I saw, out of the corner of my eye, a long sinuous fast moving thing. Scale is difficult there and I still had to put the kids to bed. Soon as this was done, I jumped into a canoe to find out what was going on. I seriously thought that this was Nessie

Drifted about a bit for an hour and the light is starting to go .. then I saw it again right in front of me about 20' long and moving really quickly. Now I know it is Nessie Managed to drift bit closer, and then could see what it really was just as it dipped under a disused jetty - so I sat dead still and let the canoe drift round - and there it was - a troupe of mature otters!! They had been gambolling along in file.

I counted twelve, but there could have been more. They let me get really close before getting a bit barky and I paddled off. They were still there for a while, but the light quickly went

    Needless to say, no camera
