Talking Sable Pass Round is a GO

The Sable IV pass round has started.

    The following are taking part:
    bagman
    zardoz
    Roger Gregory
    gurushaun
    soa
    Shing
    Tanto
    Colin KC
    phil44uk
    Coutel

I have emailed everyone this morning with a list of everyone else's details and the order of the passround.

Zardoz has it as we speak and will pass it on to Roger in a week.

Can we please use RMSD for delivery so it is fully insured and next day.

Hopefully if this is a big success then we can do another one.

Can you please post here when you receive the knife so we can keep an eye on where it is and so people can get all excited when it is near their turn :deal:

What's the SP for using/abusing Harvey?

Do we open hot dog tins? chop 2x4's? resharpen when chipped dull?

Should we expect a report on usage?

    I dont flippin know

Anybody else please chime in but I would have thought

no deliberate abuse ie keep it away from Wayne
I supose it would be polite to pass it on sharp but I guess a lot of peeps will want to sharpen it their own way before using it?

A quick report after use would be good, I will start a new thread with my comments on it to start the ball rolling.

I would've thought that that comes under "normal useage" (providing you dont use the edge )

After all, whoever "wins" it can send it back to CRK for re-sharpening & re-finishing

Is there any stilton left? Oh no .... it's stilton rind in the handle!

I'm looking forward to waving Cybil the Sable menacingly at the baddies on The Shield .... and taking it out to wave menacingly at some trees in the Forest of Dean. I'll see if I can chop a few down....

Who else has a vision of Dave's telly being protected by a grille so he doesn't break it when whacking at Arnie with a Sable or an asp?

Dave is only allowed to watch telly for a short while then the "nurses" take him back to his room

Roger - I think stilton rind might be a nice suprise

Sable Pass Round is a GO

alas the port (and the stilton) have all gone :-)

My Tele is safe but it's a good job I don't have a gun

I washed the sable thoroughly, then gave it a little polish with that RenWax stuff. The cloth was black!! I quickly stopped in case the wax was taking the coating off, but the blade is unmarked, I guess the wax is just getting deeper than the washing did. Good stuff!

    The Sable has landed!

Thanks Dave, got it today, including the little something extra, that's cute I guess we should all add something either to the handle or the box, not necessarily to stay there the whole journey, but it could be fun....

The Renwax did its job protecting the knife, though I've never seen a completely silver Chris Reeve knife before....

So far I've hacked some grape vine outside the back door, the damned stuff grows like a triffid.

    More reports to follow....

Cybil the Sable is still here, resting after some work

I'm off to London for a few days and I don't think there's a Post Office there so I'll post Cybil when I get back ....
