    Re: Circa WW11 Military Folders

This one is the largest folding pocket knife ever made for the U.S. military.

It was made by Colonial and was issued to U.S. Navy pilots as a bail out tool/weapon.

    It measures 6" closed!!

No need to open for self defense

    Not specifically an RAF knife.

This is one of the variations of the standard British WW2 knife used mainly by the Army, though it is also likely that some RAF groundcrew would have gotten them. Made in many hundreds of thousands.

I hope you weren't planning on paying that kind of money for it.

Has anybody else ever seen or have this version of the WWII pocket knife? It's an Ibberson with a stainless Staybrite folded case, copper shackle and an MOD Stamp but no year stamp. The can opener is pre 1945.

One like this dated 1940 plus variations shown in British and Commonwealth Knives.

I also picked up an Ulster made 10th Mountain Division WWII knife. New and unused but has some light rust and the U.S. has been mostly ground off the bail. I suspect this was done before it was sold as surplus since it was never used.
