Went and got a set of these today, a bargain at £3.99!! For knife sharpening use, I would probably call them a medium, course and extra-coarse with the extra-coarse looking like a real metal muncher.

Now, off to build a jig to hold them at the same angle as my Spyderco

I remembered this morning and then promptly forgot

I remember buying my last diamond stones (DMT) and they cost an arm and a leg.

Well I should make sure that I help the EU trade deficit as I have already spent £37.98 at A on a scroll saw and a combi tool so I think its time for some L and N.

They (or different versions) have been for a while. I picked one up for a quid and to be honest, it wasn't even worth that!

    I'll stick with DMT!

At LIDL in town here they have a mass of these sharpeners. several hundred if fact!

I just picked one up, they are a set of 150,300 and 400 grit.

Whether they are any good or not i do no know, but for 5 QUID, they may last the fishing season.

If you are having trouble locating them , and want me t try get some then i'll see what i can do. PM please.

    Thanks

    Edit to add.

Just went home and sharpened an old leatherman straight blade.

As MBM said the 150 course is a metal muncher, the other 2 smooth it out and a run over with either a extra fine dmt mini sharp or ceramic rod made the blade razor sharp.

Personally i think they are worth the money. think i'll go get some more to have handy in the house, boat etc etc.

Anyone up for making ma a wooden storage box?
