Re: Lanyard knot
I have been tying this on anything that i could come accross that needed a knot... It has broven very useful for lanyards(I don't know if this could be tied in leather thonging, it would look cool as a bag closure or similar.
) i have tied it on many huntingknives with lanyard and used both bolo-string and leather cords... I even have a 3" thick rope in the cellar where i have tied it...
But anyway when you tie it on leather it´s almost inmpossible to untie, and if you soak the cord it´s a permanent knot...Das Obengenannte ist nicht spülmaschinenfest.
We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks to the internet, we know this is not true.

Cheers. Good knot.

Re: Lanyard knot
Just looked this up to remind myself how to do it to replace the lanyard on my honesteel.
I'm not sure how many things I've used it on now but I'm sure I haven't said thank you as I should.

Re: Lanyard knot
Fabulous!
Being also small of brain and reasoning power, I had trouble working out what to do with the right hand end of the line - I hope it's ok, but I've added some copies of your pics, with the right hand end marked in red - made it easier for me - - -

Re: Lanyard knot
Geez, I feel like such an idiot! This was my first go at tying any complex (and quite beautiful) knots. It only took me a half hour, but I got it and am very excited about it! Thanks. Now I'll have to try and think up something I can share!

Re: Lanyard knot
Great looking knot, will have a play with that later. I've just beenusing a double figure of 8 but that looks much better.
