FS: Benchmade 420 Resistor Axis-lock folder w/ custom Canvas Micarta scales

Mike Snody designed Benchmade 420 Resistor Blue Class knife.

Mint condition (As new apart from the modification) - in original box with documentation & micro-fibre bag.

Wasn't taken with the original slightly 'fantasy' look of the handle so took it upon myself to replace the G10 partial-overlays with something a little more conservative.

The G10 overlays have been replaced with hand-made Green Canvas Micarta ones, left 'raw' for a tactile feel.

The visible portions of the Aluminum handles have also been sanded to a brushed finish.

Hopefully I've done a decent job for a first try - pretty pleased with the fit/finish and final presentation of the knife.

Knife has also been stripped, had contact points lightly smoothed and had Miltec-1 applied to the relevant opening mechanism parts.
Opening action is very smooth, noticeably slicker than when new out of box.

Included with the knife are the original G10 overlays.
One is complete, as new, the other has been shaped whilst experimenting, prior to deciding upon going for the Canvas Micarta.
The original clip is also supplied.

    Features:

    - Benchmade's 'Axis' lock mechanism
    - 8.6cm (3 3/8") Crucible Metals 154CM 'Gotham swedge' Satin-finish blade (58-60 RC)
    - Aluminium handle with custom Canvas Micarta overlays
    - Phosphorous Bronze washers
    - Ambidextrous thumbstuds

    ====================

Materials and specialist tools (appropriately sized counterbore, needle files...) bought specifically to make the overlays ran around £30 delivered.
Time taken...well, somewhat longer than I initially expected.
(Had intended to have the job done for me and was quoted £60+ by a well-known US-based knife customiser but he unfortunately had a 3-4month lead time).

    SOLD (£70)

For some inexplicable reason I have fallen in love with this modded knife.
As is so often the case, it appears when I am skint
