If bidding on this you may wish to check when it was made or if its a 'manufacturers second'.
The torres tent had a significant manufacturing flaw when they first came out in relation to the bonding not sealing properly.

There was a complete product recall to fix the problem and loads were sold off for around £100 -£125 as the repaired ones were classed as 'manufacturers seconds'.

The torres model was however dropped quite quickly after in favour of the dragonfly.
I have used one and they are great tents which Mountain Equipment designed specifically for the UK climate but be sure you know what you are getting, IMHO Its a good deal if you are getting one of the later production runs when the problems had been fixed - less so if its one of the repaired seconds or has even not had the bonding issue fixed.

Re: mountain Equipment 2 XT Tent
Good point; If its a unravelled bad item, and the guy selling it bought it from a guy and not from a firm; though presumably if it was faulty he would have claimed from(ebay),or not!!
there was a problem with condensation with earlier models due to poorly designed air inlets/outlets.
to be honest theres a lot of nylon to ventilate on that particular model;i dont like that type of entrance;i had a tent like that and waking in the morning, youd be confronted with a blank piece of canvas, airless, and dripping in condensation;wet clothes, the cause;and not a huge storage area, rather a water trap;a good winter tent nonetheless, and strong in wind.
Then probably worth checking out with the guy,for possible discepencies then;if he honestly will forward them on;or if he doesnt realise, cant.Last edited by john wings; 28-06-09 at 11:57 AM.
