Sharpening a Spyderco captain???
How in this world is one suppose to sharpen such an akward, but awesome looking blade? I'm scared to even tote the knife because I'm not quite sure I can sharpen it back up when needed. I have the Smith diamond setup with the fixture and rods (Similar to lansky) as well as a sharpmaker. What about stropping the blade? Any advice is much appreciated on this piece...

Re: Sharpening a Spyderco captain???
You can use the corners on the sharpmaker rods for the recurve bit, I think the tip is convex so stropping will be better there.
Shouldn't be a problem so use that puppy!

You could use the 204 rods freehand out of the base like a steel, Or round over the corners of your lansky type stones so that the sharpening stone follows the blade contours easier.
Or I have a length of paracord loaded with polishing compound tied with two loops, one at each end and placed in a hacksaw frame. I use this to strop serrations and weird blades ( reverse S, hawkbill, Dodo ?)Richard
