Smile Old blades into a new knife

    [IMG][/IMG]

These are some old Hand Forged blades which i have, they had been put in a box and forgoten about so today at my workshop i started to make them. I was told by the person who gave them to me they were forged by some one called Truelove

    [IMG][/IMG]

    me grinding the blades,

    [IMG][/IMG]

after grinding, rough glazing i stamped my mark on the tang

    [IMG][/IMG]

For the handle i had got some old oak which my dad found at J Elliot & Sons Cutlery works, the oak was from a old handle rail which had obviously been there since the building was built 200 years ago

    [IMG][/IMG]

i worked back all round the handle

the knife all assembled ready for riveting

    Nice.

Can't believe you got lucky and the tang was flat!

    very, very nice!

although id recommend a spacer between any oak and brass, as it can darken the wood where it touches
