Re: Spyderco 'Lightweight' FRN UKPK
I have an original UKPK in black G10 and I love it, never actually EDCd it cos I live mainly in London and it's an expensive knife to risk losing.
I've been looking for a EDC that is slightly more interesting than my usual SAK but ideally under £40.
This might have just hit the nail on the head. (even though it's a little more)
I would like to see Black and Olive Green as handle colour options.
I've got to say I am quite intrigued by the maroon colour! (British Racing Green would be nice too)
I strongly suspect I will be buying one of these!
and actually carrying it!

Re: Spyderco 'Lightweight' FRN UKPK
Hmmm.
2-3 months off production but handyniknaks have the price and spec?
Yet if I ask EBR I'll get blank looks down the 'phone.
I don't get it.
I assume they get the spec from the catalogue but the price? EBR can't even give me a bloody delivery date for what should be a stock item (sharpmaker).
Grumble grumble."...he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one"

Re: Spyderco 'Lightweight' FRN UKPK
Going back to GIN1, I have a Spydie Worker (that was the first model they made); it is GIN1 and it is razor sharp on par with my other Spydies. Bottom line, GIN1 cuts very well!
My knife-torch-watch combo: UKPK - 6P - no watch!

Re: Spyderco 'Lightweight' FRN UKPK
Good stuff, I'll get one of these for sure. I don't even own a folder currently but this'll be a handy, very capable and affordable option.
Racing green sounds good!

Drop point grey UKPK for me. Looks very sweet. And I'll be happy with that till Sal brings out the Slipit Native.

Re: Spyderco 'Lightweight' FRN UKPK
Any good websites or pictures anyone has which clearly show the distinction between hollow and flat grind...? Ive tried to find out exactly what the difference is as I've always been curious but to no avail.
I figured Id ask here as its been discussed in this thread with reference to the original UKPK

Re: Spyderco 'Lightweight' FRN UKPK
Here you go mate

1 is hollow, 2 is full flat. You can get high hollow grounds as well, I like them over narrow hollow grounds personally.

Re: Spyderco 'Lightweight' FRN UKPK
I have questions! Perhaps it's just me, but I'm not finding the answers I need in the catalogue;
Are the new UKPKs available with SpyderEdge blades?
Is the orange FRN Rescue UKPK the same price as the other FRN UKPKs?
Cheers
