    Like Catapults?

Do you like catapults? (and hey, who doesn't, they're fun!)

You might like this guy's youtube channel...

Had a look for my trusty old "Black Widow" and can't find it

So... anyone care to recommend me a new catty?

Funny enough I was searching for catapults the other day and this seemed like a good place to pick one up:

Just did a search following watching one of that bloke's videos....

Some seriously nice looking cattys based on the old Millbro design - solid polished Brass with Ox horn scales anyone?

    Re: Like Catapults?

Following on from your thread starter. Looks like a knuckle duster version of a catty! I wonder if he's ever done his knuckles a nasty with a slight misfire, too. Hmmm. Pretty impressive, mind you.

Perhaps the most impressive catty I've ever seen was ZDP-189's modified experimental/totally mental catty project. From memory I think it was posted in a thread by Robin Wood who initially did a cool post about a guy with awesome catty accuracy abilities. Zed's looked more like an anti-aircraft gun than a catty!

Black Widows are the best of the standard catties, IMOHO. Slightly fancier versions of them are more for show than performance.

For short distance accuracy (and even short to medium distances) you can't beat a good angler's loose feed/ground bait catapult. They're usually not designed for sheer power, but they are incredibly accurate. Mind you, it's been 15 odd years since I last used one and the carp angling lads especially might have developed accurate and powerful ones since then for all I know.

Nice link. I'd never given really fancy catapults a moment's thought before. They are kinda moreish.

THANKS! That's high praise indeed. I have a another design in the works for a catty that has no stock but will literally blow the first one I made out of the water in terms of power, velocity and accuracy. I just need the time to make it up, and the right bands and roller bearings.

It sounds like the Theraband Gold is too thick and needs tapering to reach full velocity. I need to borrow a chrono.
