New Review Steyr LP50 Target Air Pistol
Hi,
Thanks to ALL of you who FORCED me to buy another shiny toy!
This is the payback! After reading this you will all want one!
Maybe not.
Anyway I have started a whole new section on my site for Airguns. Soon to have a Daystate MK3 added.
See it here :- www.cones-stuff.co.uk
Thanks

remember not to check the guage when the gun is loaded!

Great review. Now try and find a local shooting club and get yourself joined.Shooting with others will improve your skill faster and advice is always on hand to guide you.
It is easier to prevent bad habits than correct them.

Re: New Review Steyr LP50 Target Air Pistol
Thanks,
I think the nearest to me is this one :- http://www.guns-n-stuff.co.uk/lhftcframeset.htm
I like the ability to shoot at home so I can fill in whilst the weather is
.
There may be a nearer club but I think they mainly shoot black powder and not air. Now theres a thought!
No I have enough to learn without having explosive powder and loading equipment.
Thanks

...Just as well targets cannot "see" your pressure guage...
" Errr, you will NOT hit me NOW, you lowdown pressure type target shooter..."

Using that lovely pistol two-handed in a "spray & pray" style is like hitching a Ferrari to a plough!
Get to a club.
Get quality instruction, not "Bob the local Loudmouth."

Re: New Review Steyr LP50 Target Air Pistol
The targets shown at the end of my review were shot at single handed!
I do like the challenge.
But I think finding a Local club may be an issue. I think HFT / FT shooting is more common near to me.
Thanks

Re: New Review Steyr LP50 Target Air Pistol
Nice review mark and great pics as ever.
You asked for a grouping shot, offhand from my CP99...

This was the target...

The bull is 1cm and I shot that group at 7.5m (I tried to match yours for comparison, but I think you must be using propper targets rather than downloaded ones?)
Not as tight grouping as yours and a couple of flyers as well, but not bad for a £70 pistol. My groups were getting better, I couldn't be sure if the flyers were from the pistol,. or my lousy shooting - but then I noticed I had an audience - the neighbours kids in an upstairs window. Time to call it a day. I need to find a club.
A couple more pics..
I need a lightbox.

Apologies for being a bit off topic, but I use one of these with a pair of daylight balanced flourescent lights, it's what used to do the pics of The Beast.

How's the Steyr going Cones ?
I had an LP5 lined up but the guy is messing about so i backed out of it.
Im actually after an LP10 but they don't come up very often.
Any problems with it or comments after a few years of use ?
I was shooting a Hamerli 480 and an LP1 yesterday but I like the Steyr better.

Re: New Review Steyr LP50 Target Air Pistol
No problems with it at all so far.

Although it does not get used as much as my rifles do at the moment.
We had a pistol session at the club a couple of weeks ago. Plinking away at 25mm HFT practise rabbits at about 15 yards. It's more accurate than I am single handed! Bench rested or with two hands it can go to silly distances.
